Dear Friends,

I am delighted to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Boni Buahendri SVD, who was born in Indonesia, on his recent appointment as the 8th Provincial Superior for the AUS Province for the forthcoming triennium, which will be effective from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028. This new position he has been entrusted with is a reflection of his dedication, his spirit of service, and the trust that his confreres and the Generalate have in his leadership. 

Leadership in the realm of religious life goes beyond simple titles; it involves adhering to the example set by Christ the Good Shepherd and the Divine Word. God does not require him to perform miracles such as parting the Red Sea, but rather to lead the province with his Council, utilising his gifts of wisdom, experience, and pastoral care. 

Fr. Boni pursued his studies in Philosophy and Theology in Flores, made his vows in 1997, and was ordained as a priest in 1998. He has been involved in various parish ministries, multicultural communities,  adult formation, formation of scholastics, Indonesian Chaplaincy, spiritual direction, and governance within the province. 

Let us offer our next Provincial our prayers and unwavering support as he embarks on this significant ministry of service. May the Holy Spirit inspire him, may Mary our Mother intercede on his behalf, and may the legacy of St. Arnold continue to guide Fr. Boni in his new mission endeavour.
