The Divine Word Missionaries AUS Province is reaching out further into the digital world with a new-look website and the launch of an App designed to deliver Mission news right to your phone or other mobile device.
With one touch, the free App provides news, scripture reflections, calendar events and more – perfect for keeping in touch with SVD Mission wherever you are.
Speaking at the launch of the App, Provincial, Fr Henry Adler SVD said it was another step from the Province to “make social communications and media part of our life and involve them in Mission”.
He thanked Matthew Price of Transformation by Design for designing the new-look website and the App.
Province Communications Co-Ordinator, Fr Prakash Menezes SVD said he was honoured to launch “this great venture into the digital world”.
“This is about us moving forward and evangelising as Divine Word Missionaries,” he said.
“That is what we are – missionaries going out, and that’s the reason we have social media. This app brings our news and information together, allowing people to access it much more instantly.”
Fr Prakash and Communications Officer Debra Vermeer (pictured) launched the App at a special morning tea attended by many of the younger confreres who were in Sydney for ongoing formation, as well as the Co-Ordinators of the Province’s Characteristic Dimensions, who were also meeting in Sydney.
