World Mission Sunday 2013 will be celebrated on Sunday, October 20.

It is a day when the worldwide Church celebrates and confirms its missionary nature and encourages all to take up their baptismal call to God's mission.

All parishes are invited to mark the day in their own unique way and we'd love to hear some of the things you have planned. 

Mission Secretary for the SVD AUS Province, Fr Henry Adler SVD, says that Divine Word Missionary parishes in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand will have a range of different things organised to celebrate the day.

“Some of our parishes will have guest speakers, or testimonials from volunteers in mission, while others will have multicultural celebrations,” he says.

“And in the lead-up to World Mission Sunday, Dorish Maru College in Melbourne, will host its annual Mission Day celebration on Sunday, September 7, featuring a presentation from Fr Joseph Mundananikkal Thomas SVD, followed by Mass and then a shared multicultural meal.”

Fr Joseph is the Director of the Institute of Indian Culture, Bombay and has a Doctorate in Sociology. He will speak on 'The Impact of Christianity on Indian Culture'.
