Ennio Mantovani was born in Northern Italy and did his philosophical and theological studies at the SVD Seminary St. Gabriel near Vienna, Austria. Following his doctoral studies, he spent forty years as missionary in Papua New Guinea. After a period at the Anthropos Institute, St. Augustin near Bonn, Germany, he moved to Box Hill, Dorish Maru College, and was lecturing on Mission Studies at the Yarra Theological Union, University of Divinity. Now as Emeritus of the Yarra Theological Union, University of Divinity he continues his academic work by publishing on his experience and research on cultures and religions of Papua New Guinea. The present publication shows his expanding academic interests.
